GIVE YOURSELF A LUXURIOUS SOAK WITH THESE BATH SALTS
After a long week at work, imagine being home on a Sunday, filling the tub with warm water, turning on some music, putting on a sheet mask, getting your favourite book (or a drink!) and settling down for a good, relaxing soak. Sounds heavenly, right? We will help you take this ‘nirvana’ experience to the next level. Here we list some bath salts that you can easily make at home that have various beauty and health benefits.

Bath salts are good for you because they open up the pores on your skin and help draw out the grime and the oils that have accumulated in your pores. They also help reduce stress, fatigue, muscle soreness and inflammation. So, all the more reason to make yourself some bath salts!

1

Bath salts for detoxing your skin

You will need:
½ cup epsom salt
½ cup multani mitti
8-10 drops of your favourite essential oil

Method:
Combine the epsom salt and the essential oil and set aside. Make a smooth paste of the multani mitti and water and apply it evenly on your body. Wait until it dries. Now, add the bath salts to a tub of warm water and soak in it for 20-30 minutes. Once you’re done, rinse off with water.
Uses:
The combination of the body mask and the salt helps exfoliate and draw out the impurities from your skin.

2

Bath salts for cellulite

Although you put in a good amount of exercise, do you still have those tell-tale signs of orange-peel skin on certain spots on your body? This bath salt may help you with that!

You will need:
2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
1 cup rock salt
1 tbsp epsom salt

Method:
Combine all the ingredients and add a part of it to a warm bath. Take the remaining bath salt and gently massage the area with cellulite. Now, soak in the bath water for 20-30 minutes.
Uses:
The epsom salt is an effective scrub. When you scrub your body with it, it evenly redistributes the fat pockets under the skin (which cause cellulite). The warm soak later on, helps calm your skin.

3

Bath salts for skin lightening

You will need:
5 tbsp honey
5 cups water
5 drops of liquorice essential oil
1 tsp hazelnut oil
3-4 cups whole milk
1 cup epsom salt

Method:
Boil water and stir honey into it till it dissolves completely. Add the milk and the epsom salt into this mixture and turn the heat off. Draw yourself a bath and add the prepared mix into the water. Soak in it for 20-30 minutes.

Uses:
While honey is a natural bleaching agent, lactic acid in the milk will help restore your natural complexion. The epsom salt acts as a natural exfoliator and aids the shedding of dead skin cells, revealing brighter skin.
